Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium ripe bananas (about ⅔ cup), mashed
- ⅓ cup natural peanut butter
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Optional Add-Ins:
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat & Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small baking dish (8×8-inch or similar) with parchment paper.
- Mash Bananas: In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Mix Ingredients: Add the peanut butter and cocoa powder. Stir until well combined and a thick batter forms.
- Add Optional Mix-Ins: If using, fold in chocolate chips, nuts, or vanilla extract.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Bake for 17-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool & Serve: Let brownies cool in the pan for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas (with brown spots) for the best sweetness and texture.
- For nut-free brownies, swap peanut butter for sunflower seed butter or tahini.
- Brownies continue to set as they cool, so don’t overbake!
- Store at room temperature for 3 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
