Ham and Cheese Sliders – Easy Party Recipe

  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Ham and Cheese Sliders are delightful mini sandwiches that combine savory ham, melted cheese, and a buttery glaze, all baked to perfection. Ideal for gatherings, game days, or a quick family meal, these sliders are both easy to prepare and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 12 slices of deli ham
  • 12 slices of Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat.
  • Prepare the Rolls: Without separating the rolls, slice them horizontally to create a top and bottom layer. Place the bottom half in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Layer the Ham and Cheese: Evenly distribute the ham slices over the bottom layer of rolls, followed by the Swiss cheese slices.
  • Add the Top Layer: Place the top half of the rolls over the ham and cheese layers.
  • Make the Glaze: In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Apply the Glaze: Pour the glaze evenly over the top of the rolls, ensuring each is well-coated.
  • Let It Sit: Allow the sliders to rest for about 10 minutes, giving the rolls time to absorb the flavors of the glaze.
  • Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before cutting into individual sliders. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Variations: Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like cheddar or provolone, and add condiments such as mayonnaise or honey mustard for extra flavor.
  • Make-Ahead Option: Assemble the sliders and apply the glaze, then cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking. This makes them perfect for preparing in advance of a party or event.
  • Storage: Leftover sliders can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to enjoy them warm again.
